Review: Etude House Lock N’ Summer Color Lips Fit

image

Awhile ago I posted a product release post on Etude House’s new summer collection called ‘Lock n’ Summer’. Although it isn’t summer in Australia, nothing was going to stop me from trying out their new, interesting products. From the collection I purchased the eyeliner and the Color lip fit, which I will be reviewing today.

I actually own the original Etude House color lip fit and I thought it was a great product and one of the best lip product Etude House has to offer. Among the very summer-y colours available in the ‘lock n’ summer’ collection there was a burgundy purple colour that caught my eye and looked like the perfect colour to rock during winter. I am also buying a lot more purple cosmetic products lately, so I had to add another shade of purple to my collection!~

Description: This is a revolutionary liquid type lipstick that moistly glides onto lips with its vivid color and finishes off with a weightless powdery texture

[Directions] 1. Shake well before use 2. Apply smoothly with tip, lightly dab onto center of lips for gradation, delicately apply for full cover

Capacity: 10g

I think the design for this collection is really fun and it looks like Etude House are going for a  ‘London rock chick’ kind of theme for this collection, as the collection focuses on heavy liner and bright lips.

I love the packaging and I love how Etude House are taking a different approach to the design in this collection as the products are less princess-y and cute like what I am normally use to seeing.

Overall I think the box looks very pretty and eye-catching. However the important part is that it comes with an English description of the product, directions, and ingredients! ~ Also on the top of the box it is coloured to represent the colour of the lip tint. The colour I own is #PP501, Brave fit berry.

image

The product comes in a plastic bottle and the lid is a pearly, glossy white. It’s pretty much comes in the exact same type of packaging as the previous colour fit, except the design on the bottle is different and the lid is different.

I think the applicator is the perfect size, plus it is slanted. This enables me to apply the product easily.

You can also use this tint as a blush and I think it produces a lovely purple/burgundy colour. Although I wouldn’t use it since I’m not a fan of it’s artificial smell.

Somehow when I take a photo of my lips it ends up looking very pink in pictures. I tried my best adjusting the picture so it looks like what it does in real life ><. In real life the colour looks more like a dark purple with a hint of pink on my lips. It looks more similar to this, but matte.

The pigmentation of this product is great, but sadly it transfers very easy. So to be on the safe side I blot my lips a few times after I apply the tint. The tint appears shiny at first but then gradually dries into a matte, powdery finish, which feels comfortable and lightweight on my lips.

This particular product has amazing lasting power and it lasted me more than 6 hours with eating and drinking! I have the original color fit and it doesn’t last me as long so I don’t know if the formula is slightly different.

Pros:

  • Extremely long lasting
  • Beautiful colours to choose from
  • Great pigmentation
  • Affordable
  • You can use the tint on your lips or as a blush
  • Matte finish
  • Feels lightweight
  • Doesn’t accentuate flakiness (until it starts wearing off, but applying lip balm usually does the trick)

Cons:

  • Smells funny and too artificial
  • Transfer easily

I rate this: 4 1/2 Lay healing hearts out of 5

Soothing and Smoothing DIY Bath Recipe

image

disclaimer: fonts and images in the picture above belong to their respective owners

It is winter in Australia and I find that my skin gets really dry! To be honest, I sometimes neglect moisturising my skin after showering, since it’s too cold (yes it gets cold in Australia aswell lol). So on a weekly basis I like to give myself a bath with added natural ingredients!~ Taking baths is great in the winter season and I find that it makes me more relaxed. Hopefully you can try this bath recipe yourself~

1. Melt around 1/4 cup of coconut oil in the microwave: I used organic coconut oil which I purchased from an organic food store. If you have access to Costco, I recommend getting it from there since it is a lot cheaper then getting it at a specialty store!

Coconut oil is really good to use on your skin since it can hydrate your skin and also prevent sagging and wrinkles!~ Check out this website if you want to know more benefits of coconut oil.

image

2. Measure 1/4 of a cup of honey: Honey is known to be very moisturising and soothing! It is also great for treating acne, clarifying pores and slowing down anti-aging.

image

3. Mix the honey and coconut oil together in a small bowl

image

4. Add the mixture into your warm bath along with 2 cups of milk!~

—-

That’s all there is, it’s pretty simple!~ After taking a bath my skin felt noticeably smoother and softer. I recommend you try it out, and tell me how it works for you!~ ^^

Awesome beauty tips from Etude House!~

Rarest and most precious of all are moments of true cosmopolitanism, when the frameworks of national identities, stereotypes and rivalries inherent in international football are momentarily transcended; when the football is just so good that it doesn’t matter who it is; when the story is better than victory or defeat; when the promise of a universal humanity is made emotionally tangible.

☁ Etude House Ice Tint Balm ☁

image

retails for: 8,000 KRW

Etude House has just released yet a new product for their summer collection which I am really interested in trying out! This product comes in six pretty colours which look so pigmented on the models! I’ve also been seeing a lot of burgundy tone lip colours in Etude House’s summer collection, which is a bit surprising as I never thought burgundy tones would suit summer. But it’s winter here in Australia, so those colours would be perfect for me to try out!~

[Etude House] Ice Tint Balm 4.5g

As it melt like ice cream, A new concept tint gives cool and moist feeling to your lips.

cr: Cosmetic-love

My lips tend to get really dry, so hopefully if I do purchase this product it will keep my lips moist!~ I’m kind of curious on how the balm can give a cooling effect.

When we talk about tinted lip balms, Maybelline’s Baby lips come to mind. I actually own a few myself, and although I love it, it isn’t as pigmented as how Etude’s ice balm looks on the model. I really love the colour PP502 since it reminds me of what  Lee Minjung wore in Sly and Single.

Which colour would you purchase?

itsmyturntokry asked: Hi~ Where did you buy the Etude House Mini Color Pop Tint? ^^ I've never seen it before.

Hi~ :D. I bought my Etude House tint from Ebay (I can’t remember which seller though). It is really easy to find if you search its product name in Ebay’s search engine. Here’s the link  to make things easier :). I hope I helped~^^

Review: Etude House Mini Color Pop Tint

image

Etude House came out with a mini-size edition of their Color Pop tint. I thought it was the perfect chance for me to test it out since their mini version is super affordable!~  I seriously love lip tints, and the majority of the tints I own are red, so I thought I should try out pink this time around.  I bought this particular colour because it was similar to the lip colour Na Eun wore in her mv. I have also mentioned this product in my ‘Get the Look: Apink Mr chu’ post (check it out here ♥ ),

One thing I love about Etude House’s Color Pop tint is the wide range of colours they offer. You can find colours from red to orange to pink to nude and even to burgundy!~

image

The Colour I chose was No.7 and it retailed for around 6 aud.

image

Etude House Description: This is a 3-in-one magic gloss tint that glides on in a perfect combination of smoothness and shine, with a lip stain formula that provides vivid colour and long lasting shine

image

To show you guys how ‘mini’ this tint actually is I placed it next to my Mac lipstick and also included measurements for you guys. I actually wasn’t expecting it to be this small- it kinda seems like a sample size in my opinion.

I think since it’s mini sized it is convenient to carry around, I’m just worried about losing it in my bag! Since it’s affordable and comes in many different colours it gives you the chance to try out a variety of colours. I don’t know about you, but I have never finished a lip product before in my life, so even though this product is small I am sure it will last me for a while!~

image

The product itself doesn’t come in a box and its packaging is very simplistic and looks exactly like their bigger version of the color pop, only more compact. Something to take note of is that some colours available in the mini version is not available in the bigger version.

image

The applicator doesn’t seem that much smaller from the full size product

image

I absolutely love the colour of the product! It’s a very glossy, almost hot pink colour when swatched. The texture is quite creamy and I find that one swipe is enough for me to achieve a solid colour!~  The colour swatched looks very similar to the colour on the model, however when I apply the colour to my lips the colour is a soft fuschia instead of a vibrant fushcia.

image

image

I find that this tint  feels extremely lightweight on my lips and is non sticky. It also prevents my lips from looking dry and doesn’t highlight dry areas. The colour is also wearable in my opinion since you can always choose to use the gradation method instead of applying it all over your lips.

image

Pros

  • A wide range of colours to choose form
  • Affordable!
  • Convenient to carry around
  • Doesn’t dry out my lips
  • Doesn’t accentuate dry areas
  • Great pigmentation
  • Lasts around 5-7 hours for me with eating and drinking
  • Glides on smoothly

Cons

  • The product is a bit too small so it may not last long
  • Doesn’t look as glossy as it does on the model

I rate this: 5 Baekgu out of 5
